Message from the Director General

Greetings from TSC

It gives me immense pleasure to speak to you and share information about Telecommunications Staff College (TSC), Gazipur – the apex Telecom training institution of BTCL. TSC was established in 1986 by the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB). As an in-house training institution of BTCL, TSC has conducted 2-year long telecom training for all the BCS (Telecom) cadre officers for the last 30 years. For the last five years, TSC has successfully conducted 7 (seven) 6-months long Foundation Training Courses (FTCs) namely T-60 FTC, T-61 FTC, T-62 FTC, T-63 FTC, T-64 FTC, 68th FTC, and 70th FTC in collaboration with MoPA & BPATC for 503 cadre officers of 14 different BCS cadres. Apart from these Foundation Training Courses, TSC has also conducted two Special Foundation Training Courses (SFTC) for the BCS (Health) Cadre Officers-93 participants, in collaboration with MoPA and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It also has conducted 2 (two) Basic Training Courses for Telecommunication Systems for Assistant Engineers of 49 of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (DMTCL) and 3 (three) Foundation Training Courses for BCS (General Education) Cadre officers of namely 163rd FTC, 171st FTC, and 188th FTC. Since 2016, TSC has conducted 5 (Five) Foundation Training Courses for newly appointed Assistant Managers of BTCL, including 1st Basic Training Course in 2016 with 80 participants, 2nd in 2018 with 67, 3rd in 2019 with 45, 4th in 2022 with 37, and 5th in 2024 with 73 participants. However, TSC also arranges monthly refreshers and short courses for BTCL employees. Top-level and noted Bureaucrats, Civil Servants, renowned Academicians, and Top-ranked Officers of BTCL are invited as guest speakers to conduct the training classes.

As the success of TSC largely depends on its human resources, I would like to express my appreciation to all the officers and staff for their unwavering dedication and perseverance in ensuring the growth and success of the institution across all activities.

I express my gratitude to all the organizations, guest speakers, and individuals who have chosen TSC to pursue their training needs and look forward to continued patronage. TSC promises to work tirelessly not only to meet but also to surpass expectations. For the students, we have introduced the field attachment program conducted throughout the year.

Thanking you.

With Best Regards,

Mohammad Mahmudul Haque

Director General, TSC.
